The Level 5 Hijama Diploma is the most thorough body Hijama qualification available in the UK — a comprehensive two-day intensive programme covering the complete theory and practice of wet and dry cupping, taught by Nasima Nahar and her expert team in East London. This is not an introductory course. It is a full professional qualification that takes you from the foundations of Hijama — its roots in Islamic medicine, the Sunnah points, the classical literature — through to the detailed anatomy and physiology you need to practise safely, the infection control standards required by professional bodies, and the supervised clinical practice that builds genuine competence. You will learn wet cupping (Hijama) in full — the therapeutic release technique, Sunnah point protocols, body mapping, and the clinical reasoning behind point selection. You will learn dry cupping — static, dynamic, and flash cupping methods and their specific indications. You will study the musculoskeletal system, the circulatory system, the lymphatic system, and the layers of the skin in the depth required to make safe, informed treatment decisions. You will learn how to take a professional client consultation, screen for contraindications, obtain informed consent, and document your treatments to the standard required by professional indemnity insurers. You will practise on real clients under direct supervision, and you will complete a minimum of 36 supervised case studies — each individually reviewed and marked with detailed written feedback from Nasima Nahar — before your certificate is awarded. Ongoing post-course mentorship is included as standard. Maximum 6 students per session. CMA & IPHM accredited.

History and foundations of Hijama — roots in Islamic medicine, the Sunnah, classical literature, and the hadith evidence base for therapeutic cupping
Anatomy & physiology in depth — musculoskeletal system, circulatory system, lymphatic system, skin layers (epidermis, dermis, hypodermis), and relevant pathology for each body region
Sunnah points — the classical point locations, their anatomical basis, their traditional indications, and how to apply them in a modern clinical context
Wet cupping (Hijama) theory and technique — the full therapeutic release method, cup placement, suction calibration, incision technique, and the physiological mechanisms of therapeutic action
Dry cupping — static cupping for myofascial release and circulation, dynamic (sliding) cupping for larger muscle groups, flash cupping for superficial stimulation, and the specific indications for each method
Client consultation — taking a thorough health history, identifying contraindications, assessing suitability for treatment, obtaining informed consent, and planning an appropriate treatment protocol
Contraindications — absolute and relative contraindications for Hijama, including blood disorders, active infections, pregnancy, medications, and skin conditions; how to screen for them and when to refer to a GP
Infection control & health and safety — sterilisation standards, single-use equipment requirements, PPE (gloves, apron, eye protection), sharps disposal, clinical waste management, pre-treatment skin preparation, and treatment environment standards
Body mapping and treatment planning — how to map treatment areas, document point selection, record client responses, and build a treatment plan across a course of sessions
Live practical sessions — hands-on technique on real clients under direct supervision, with immediate feedback on cup placement, suction, incision technique, and clinical decision-making
Supervised case studies — minimum 36 case studies, each submitted with full consultation notes, treatment records, and client response documentation; individually reviewed and marked with detailed written feedback
Aftercare — what to advise clients after Hijama, how to manage the healing response, what to watch for, and when to refer
Ongoing mentorship — continued personal support from Nasima Nahar after course completion as you build your practice and encounter clinical situations that require guidance
