The practical training days

Nobody leaves unsure. That is our commitment to every student.

The practical days are the heart of this diploma. With a maximum of 6 students, Nasima and her team can give every single person direct, individual attention. You are not watching from the back of a room — you are doing, being corrected, and doing again until your technique is genuinely right.

Head and scalp Hijama, limb cupping on the arms and legs, and full body wet and dry cupping are all demonstrated first, then practised by every student. If your cup placement is off, Nasima shows you exactly why and how to correct it. If your incision depth needs adjusting, you practise again. The practical day does not follow a fixed clock — it continues until every student has performed each technique correctly and confidently.

By the time you leave, you will have performed a complete head treatment, limb cupping, and a full body Hijama session — all under direct supervision. You will not be guessing when you see your first client.

Head & scalp Hijama

Cup placement, scalp assessment, superficial scratch technique, suction control, and aftercare — all demonstrated and practised. You perform a complete head treatment before moving on.

Limb cupping — arms and legs

Correct placement for the upper and lower limbs, including common presentations such as joint pain, poor circulation, and muscle tension. Practised on real models with live correction.

Full body Hijama — back, shoulders and Sunnah points

The complete body protocol — Sunnah points, therapeutic points, body mapping, wet and dry cupping combined. Every student performs a full body treatment under supervision.

Practical continues until you are sure

If you need more time on any technique, you get it. The session does not end at an arbitrary time. Nasima stays until every student is confident — that is the promise of a maximum-6 group.

After the training days

Case studies tailored exclusively to you

Your 36–50 supervised case studies are not a box-ticking exercise. Each one is reviewed personally by Nasima. She reads your consultation notes, looks at your body maps, and gives you written feedback on your specific technique, your clinical decisions, and your documentation — not a generic comment that could apply to anyone.

If your work shows a pattern — a tendency to place cups too far from the Sunnah point, or consultation notes that need more detail — Nasima identifies it and tells you exactly what to work on in your next case study. Your development is tracked individually from the first submission to the last. You are not a number in a cohort. You are a practitioner being shaped into someone who is genuinely ready to work safely and confidently.

36–50 case studies
Each one individually reviewed — not batch-marked or auto-assessed
Written feedback on your work
Nasima reads your notes, maps, and technique descriptions and responds to what she actually sees in your submissions
Tailored development plan
If your technique needs refining in a specific area, your next case study is directed towards that area — not a generic next step
Resubmit until it is right
If a case study does not meet the standard, you are told exactly why and what to do differently. You resubmit. You do not just pass and move on.
Mentorship throughout
You have direct access to Nasima throughout your case study period — not just at the end when you submit your final portfolio

Who is this course for?

The Level 5 Hijama Diploma is designed for anyone who wants a thorough, professionally recognised qualification — whether you are starting from scratch or formalising existing skills.

Complete beginners

No prior experience needed. The course takes you from foundational theory through to supervised clinical practice.

Existing therapists

Already practising Hijama or another therapy? This diploma formalises your skills with a nationally recognised Level 5 qualification.

Healthcare professionals

Nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals looking to integrate Hijama into their practice with a rigorous, evidence-informed qualification.

International students

Students from outside the UK are welcome. The training days take place in London — visit our International Students page for more details.

What you will learn — and practise

Every topic is taught with direct practical application. Theory is covered so you understand the why — then you do it, under supervision, until it is right. Head, limb, and full body techniques are all demonstrated and practised on the training days. Your case studies afterwards are reviewed personally by Nasima with feedback written specifically for your work.

Head & scalp Hijama — technique and safety

You will practise wet and dry cupping on the head and scalp under direct supervision. You learn exactly where to place cups, how to assess the scalp, how to perform superficial scratches safely, and how to manage the treatment from start to finish. No one moves on until the technique is correct.

Limb cupping — arms and legs

Full hands-on training in cupping the upper and lower limbs — including the correct placement for common presentations such as joint pain, poor circulation, and sports recovery. You practise on real models with Nasima observing and correcting your technique in real time.

Body Hijama — back, shoulders and Sunnah points

The core of the diploma. You learn the full body Hijama protocol — Sunnah points, therapeutic points, body mapping, and how to adapt placements for each client's presentation. Every student performs a complete body treatment under supervision before the practical day ends.

Wet cupping — incision technique and suction control

You learn the correct depth, angle, and number of scratches for each body area. Suction levels, cup sizes, and timing are all covered in detail. You practise until your technique is consistent and confident — not just once, but repeatedly, until it is second nature.

Dry cupping — static, dynamic and flash methods

Three distinct dry cupping methods are taught and practised: static (cups left in place), dynamic (cups moved across the skin), and flash (rapid suction and release). You learn when to use each method and how to combine them within a single treatment.

Client consultation and treatment planning

Full consultation training — health history, contraindication screening, consent, treatment planning, and aftercare. You complete real consultation forms during the practical day so you are confident running your own consultations from day one.

Anatomy & physiology — the part students love most

The musculoskeletal system, circulatory system, lymphatic system, skin layers, and relevant pathology — all taught in the context of Hijama practice. Students consistently say this is the module that changes how they think about the body. You learn why each technique works, not just how to perform it. This depth is one of the reasons the course is approved by doctors and medical professionals.

Infection control and clinical hygiene

Full infection control training: sterilisation of equipment, correct use of PPE, sharps handling and disposal, cross-contamination prevention, and clinical waste management. This is non-negotiable — you will be assessed on it.

Body maps and treatment records

You learn to document every treatment accurately using professional body maps and treatment record forms. Proper record-keeping protects you legally and ensures continuity of care for your clients.

Supervised case studies — tailored to you

After the practical days, you complete 36–50 supervised case studies. These are not generic — they are reviewed individually by Nasima and her team, with written feedback on your specific technique, consultation approach, and clinical decision-making. Your case studies are designed around what you need to develop.

Ongoing mentorship throughout your case study period

You are not left alone after the training days. Nasima personally observes your submitted case study work and provides tailored written feedback. If your technique needs refining, she tells you exactly what to adjust and why — and you resubmit until it is right.

Business setup and wholesaler access

No prior experience is required. The Level 5 Hijama Diploma is designed to take you from beginner to fully qualified practitioner. If you already have some experience, the course will deepen and formalise your skills.

When Nasima Nahar developed this Level 5 Hijama Diploma, no other Hijama qualification in the world held dual accreditation from two independent professional bodies simultaneously. The CMA (Complementary Medical Association) and IPHM (International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine) each assessed the curriculum independently and awarded accreditation. The depth of anatomy and physiology, the infection control standards, the supervised case study model, and the clinical governance framework all meet the bar that doctors and medical professionals require — which is why the course carries their approval. No other Hijama diploma in the world holds this dual status.

The curriculum was built to a clinical standard, not just a complementary therapy standard. The anatomy and physiology module covers the musculoskeletal, circulatory, and lymphatic systems in genuine depth. Infection control is assessed, not just taught. Contraindication screening, treatment planning, and clinical documentation are all part of the practical training. Doctors and medical professionals who have reviewed the curriculum recognise it as meeting the standard they would expect from a practitioner working alongside or alongside their patients.

Level 5 is a nationally recognised qualification level equivalent to a foundation degree. It demonstrates a high standard of clinical knowledge and practice, which is important for insurance purposes and for building client trust. Many insurance providers require a Level 5 qualification for Hijama practitioners.

The intensive training days are completed over 2 days in London. After that, you complete 36–50 supervised case studies at your own pace, with each one reviewed and marked by the academy. Most students complete their case studies within 3–6 months.

The Level 5 Hijama Diploma is accredited by both the Complementary Medical Association (CMA) and the International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine (IPHM). Both are widely recognised by professional insurance providers in the UK.
